[Star Wars] do not live like living men (Leia gen)

Title: do not live like living men
Fandom: Star Wars
Length: 158 words
Prompt: fic_promptly: Star Wars original trilogy, Leia Organa, prophetic dreams
Pairing: Leia gen
Other: Set precanon.

Excerpt: The dreams are vivid -- not just her mother, but a blonde man with a crooked smile, a man in a black vest, a boy taking off a storm-trooper's helmet -- but none of them make any sense.

She doesn't tell anyone that she grows up dreaming of her mother, not the woman who raised her but the one who gave birth to her, the one she never really got to know: a young woman in beautiful costumes who loved her country and took a chance that hurt her (Leia can never see exactly how).

The dreams are vivid -- not just her mother, but a blonde man with a crooked smile, a man in a black vest, a boy taking off a storm-trooper's helmet -- but none of them make any sense, and by the time she's a Senator, Leia has learned to push the dreams down and away.

The day after she meets Luke, she wakes with a start in the cramped quarters of the Millennium Falcon and her spine goes cold, her ears hot, but she shakes it off again, because dreams aren't going to win the revolution, and she intends to win.
