When Brock becomes Dr. Venture's bodyguard, he gets a tour of the grounds and the lab. Rusty vacillates between desperate pride and embarrassment. The nicest inventions were all made by his father, which could explain why the lab looks like 1975 threw up in it. Brock isn't actually interested unless any of the useless objects could actually hurt someone. Of course, most of them could be used as blunt objects, but he's thinking more like doomsday devices. You have to keep your eye on the kids of scientists. There's a lot of going-bad potential there.

While Rusty is on his "sabbatical" (he seems to treat his sons' deaths like an excuse for a vacation, nowadays), Brock spends some time in the lab. He usually does some cleaning while there's no one around to protest. This time he decides to tackle the closet. There's something glowing that has been leaking out of it for a while. He usually just puts vomit powder on it, but he's beginning to think that he might actually die of cancer instead of bodyguarding.

No garage sale this time. Brock pulls out a box of trash bags and starts filling it. He can't tell what half of these things are supposed to be. This thing that looks like a hairdryer was probably supposed to be a heat ray, judging by the fact that half of it is melted. There's some bright blue thing that goes twang in a way that hurts his eardrums, but what it's actually supposed to be, Brock has no idea. Oh, and here's the heart of genius: a fork taped to a spoon. Great one, Doc.

He finds the leaking thing at the bottom. Rusty Venture's Portable Nuclear Waste Disposal Unit, it says on the side, with a little copyright symbol. Brock snorts.

He should probably call OSI and get a disposal team out, but he doesn't want them looking too closely at this compound. He knows the cloning is illegal, but it makes his job easier. That's all he's looking for, nowadays.

He shoves the thing in the bag and puts the twist tie on it.
