[Glee] tomorrow's questions (Mercedes and Quinn gen)
Title: tomorrow's questions
Fandom: Glee
Length: 166 words
Prompt: bechdel test comment ficathon: Glee, Mercedes and Quinn, sleepover
Pairing: Mercedes and Quinn gen
Other: n/a
Excerpt: There's one rule at their sleepovers that comes from Quinn's brief time as a resident of the Jones household: they don't talk about boys.
There's one rule at their sleepovers that comes from Quinn's brief time as a resident of the Jones household: they don't talk about boys.
Instead, Mercedes complains about how hard it is to find a bra for a woman of her particular size, and Quinn debates colors to paint their nails. They watch romantic comedies or sometimes whatever they are reading in English, in hopes that they won't have to finish all the chapters. Mercedes helps Quinn memorize Cheerio routines; maybe choreography isn't her first love, but it's definitely up there. Quinn coaches Mercedes in biology, which Mercedes sees as alternatively gross and boring.
They have more fun this way, focused on themselves and each other, their own little world, their safe place. They can be friends in Glee, but the outside world complicates things.
So they have Saturday mornings, Mercedes's mom making pancakes, and in-jokes and makeovers.
And during the week, they hold to the promise of another weekend sleepover, and trade smiles when they pass in the hall.
