Excerpt: He would be proud of his daughter no matter how she grew up, even if she had twelve toes and a harsher voice than a donkey's.
Will was happy to learn he was going to be a father, and happy to share the information; everyone around him speculated on the baby, saying that the little one would certainly be a great singer or an amazing gymnast, someone that they could be proud of, and Will just nodded and smiled, not quite sure why that idea didn't sit right with him.
When he saw the ultrasound, he knew why-- he would be proud of his daughter no matter how she grew up, even if she had twelve toes and a harsher voice than a donkey's; she was his girl and she didn't need to be anything else for him to love her.
But he grew new fears overnight-- he wanted to be a dad that she could be proud of, a dad she could love and trust-- and those were the worries that kept him awake at night, not contemplation of the person she would be, because she would be amazing, he already knew.
