Excerpt: "None of your pick-up lines are going to work," the woman said.
i. somewhere between (first meeting)
"None of your pick-up lines are going to work," the woman said. Her garnet eyes glittered oddly through the smoky atmosphere. She shifted on the barstool, resting one deliciously pale leg on top of the other.
For the first time since he came into his power, Clow felt small, insignificant, unusually like a normal man. He opened his mouth and shut it again, feeling suddenly like his voice would crack if he spoke.
"Good thing that I've been expecting you," she said, smiling widely, and Clow felt goosebumps trail down his spine.
ii. a place i keep finding myself (first time)
His kisses trailed down her spine and he ran his tongue across the tattoo on her buttocks-- characters in a long-dead language roughly etched into otherwise pristine skin.
Yuuko let him kiss her for a moment longer, and then she shifted and took control of his mouth, biting his lip and pulling him down onto the mat.
This wasn't in the plan, she thought, but hitsuzen was malleable.
iii. raising hell and amazing grace (first children)
"What are we going to name them?" Yuuko said, rolling onto her back and idly painting another coat of polish onto her toenails. She was completely naked and considering drawing patterns across her skin with the paint. It wasn't the thick sort of modern nail polish, more of a stain, and she always thought she looked good in royal purple.
"Light and dark," Clow muttered, distracted, leaning over to place a kiss on her earlobe without taking his eyes off of the messy diagrams in front of him. He took the quill out of the inkpot next to the bed and scribbled a new note on his parchment.
Yuuko rolled his eyes. Those Chinese magicians and their obsession with light and dark... "Soel," she said, tracing the English letters in paint across her collarbones. She didn't care that it would be backwards to him. "And Larg." Those letters were dripped carefully onto her abdomen, right above the belly button. She eyed Clow mischievously and he ignored her intentions, lost in calculation.
Shouldn't we call them Mokona?" Clow said after a moment's hesitation, doodling a smiling Mokona face onto the corner of the parchment.
"Middle names are important," Yuuko said, "Clow Eriol Reed."
Clow winced at the mention and Yuuko traced paint across her cheekbones, looking like some sort of ceremonial princess with her unbound hair flowing down her back and across her chest.
iv. i always end up back (first goodbye)
"I'm leaving today," he said, poking his head into the doorway. He was shocked to see her in formal dress, sitting at the vanity and carefully arranging her hair.
"I know," she said calmly, inserting a few pins.
"Aren't you..."
Clow hesitated.
"What?" Yuuko asked, applying tint to her lips.
"Never mind," Clow said, turning away. She listened to him go, his step measured and a bit heavy with anger. After a moment, she sighed. She'd known it wouldn't be easy to say goodbye to her first, so she left it for next time (it would be easier when he was a child, wouldn't it?)
