Excerpt: She doesn't resist and that makes this worse, somehow, as your hand traces down her cheek and rests at the curve of her hip.

The first time you kiss her, her hair is downy soft and her lips are somehow even softer. She doesn't resist and that makes this worse, somehow, as your hand traces down her cheek and rests at the curve of her hip.

She is pressing her body against yours, lost in need, and you can't say no, you can't say no, though later, later, the others will wonder, the ones who know who you are. For now there is Tomoyo's lips and Tomoyo's hair and Tomoyo's brilliant white skin and your teeth to trace the skin, to tease and mark it. She moans and your manhood responds. There is nothing else to do and you can't say no, can't say no.

There is a hasty wedding six months later, and she shows ridiculously, even with the dress carefully tailored and you still can't believe that your son is living in her, but you can't believe, even more, that she is here and she has consented to be yours forever, she and her soft skin and her sweetly brilliant mind and oh god she knows you're not really her age and she doesn't begrudge you this bit of unnatural desire, she loves you anyway.

And of course there were questions, because your friends love you and they worry about you, and you close your mind, you have to, because what do they know about love? Only how to love when it is easy, when you fall so gently into the eyes of a rival and a friend. And you know how it is to fall in love against your will, to spend the nights away penning desperate poetry to the woman who went away before and the other one you never wanted to love. You close your mind and don't think about the fact that your bride's maid-of-honor is your daughter, in too many different ways, and your bride is her age, and you have to close your mind.

Your son is hidden there beneath her skin and you will undress her again tonight like it is your first time, spending hours drinking her curves, her thighs, her hips, her heart, because she is giving it here to you like she did that night you kissed her first.

And you are pronounced, and the people who don't know who you are stand and cheer, glad to see their friend married to such a beauty, and not understanding she's so young, so young compared to you, that it appalls Kaho, even though she stands at the back of the church, and she turns away when you look in her direction.

You kiss the new Mrs. Hiiragizawa and her lips are as soft as the day you first claimed them. As you hold her hand, you can have no regrets, only lost paths, and those paths unregretted even though unexplored. What do they know about love, really?

You catch her eye from the corner of yours and she smiles vibrantly, her face the picture of happy calm. You feel her hip press against yours as you help her down the stairs, your hands gentle on her body, like they always are, even when confronted with such glorious need.

You emerge from the church with Tomoyo at your side and that is all there is, all there needs to be, from now on until forever.
