Excerpt: It was difficult to have both social intelligence and practical intelligence, and for some reason Clow had always voted for the practical stuff. Better to know how to create your own friends than to attempt to mold yourself into an acceptable being.
Eriol should have been studying for his Japanese test tomorrow, but he was thinking again, spread out across the bed with a book over his face, looking like a normal teenager. He was thinking about Kaho.
He'd gone to her wedding.
It was difficult to have both social intelligence and practical intelligence, and for some reason Clow had always voted for the practical stuff. Better to know how to create your own friends than to attempt to mold yourself into an acceptable being. Eriol knew how to make friends, of course-- there was a very clinical formula to it, the set of one's eyes and the smile... It was once Eriol had friends that he didn't know what to do with them, once he'd accomplished his purposes.
Then there was Kaho.
She looked past his posturing-- which really, he didn't need to do with her because he didn't need her for anything, not like his "foster parents," not like he needed his guardians (and that had blossomed from "needed" to "loved like family" without any comprehension of the process). She looked past the fact that he appeared twelve, and would appear twelve for a few years yet. She saw him.
Since Eriol often had troubles seeing himself around Clow, this was quite an accomplishment.
He was a gentleman, through and through. He hadn't postured or cried or yelled when she broke up with him, three years after they'd begun dating seriously (two years after he gave her the ring she used to flash at everyone, smiling quietly in her own way). She offered no explanation; he didn't ask.
He'd gone to her wedding, right before he'd gone back to Japan to be around the only other people who had looked past Clow and loved him as Eriol. He'd gone back to a girl who had learned that his entire purpose in life was to test her strength to the point of breaking-- a girl who'd smiled and hugged him when he left.
Nakuru and Spinelsun were happy with his decision to return. England wasn't as fun as it had been before they'd gone to Japan. Nakuru missed having a Touya to torment, and Spinelsun was cultivating his skills at World of Warcraft and wanted to face off against Kero. And they were his family, of course, and they wanted him to be happy.
When he came back, Sakura smiled and hugged him, saying she was glad that he was there. All of a sudden, he was glad too.
(That's why he took the chance. That's why he kissed her.)
Eriol sighed, feeling his breath rustle the pages of his book, and then he lifted a hand and gestured downward. The lights faded as he did. He took the book off of his face and looked up at the ceiling. Sakura smiled at him in his thoughts. Then Kaho did.
Eriol fell asleep.

Excellent, as is the standard from you. ^_^

Thank you, thank you! This is going to be my most difficult comm yet, as I have to write 365 prompts, one for EACH DAY OF THE YEAR. Going to die now. Honestly, I don't think that even people in love dwell on the fact for a lengthy period of time every day.

Good luck!! *cough, dwells rather a lot on her relationship, but is obsessive* I think you'll make it! I wasn't able to do 365_characters myself @_@
