Excerpt: Eriol avoided her eyes all yesterday and she couldn't help but wonder if he regretted what he did.
She does the laundry Saturday night, refusing an invitation from Tomoyo and a second one from Naoko. Eriol avoided her eyes all yesterday and she couldn't help but wonder if he regretted what he did. She didn't know what she would have done if he'd tried to speak to her, but this waiting made her nervous.
She folded her school uniform neatly and hung her father's work shirts on hangers. He'd been so pleased when she agreed to take care of all of the laundry, and she didn't mind at all. She could always think between the loads, hunched down against the wall opposite with her eyes closed, listening to the dryer's hum.
"Eriol-kun," she whispered softly. She folded the same t-shirt three times before realizing the fact and looking away guiltily before she brought it up to her nose and smelled.
It was one of Syaoran's t-shirts; well, had been once, a long time ago, and maybe it was her imagination but she thought his scent still lingered.
Just for a moment, there was something sharper in her nose-- pine perhaps, a deeper musk that reminded her of someone, of--
Of Eriol.
Sakura sighed and began taking the laundry out of the machine. She still had a little time to figure this out. Everything was going to be all right, wasn't it?
"I have an invincible spell," she mumbled, sinking down and burying her tears in her ex-boyfriend's old t-shirt.
I should have hung out with Tomoyo...
