I didn't realize she was sick or I would have waited. Time is of the essence, yes, but isn't it always? Time looms over me as the moon looms so garishly in her dreams. Clow's years weigh heavily on me.

All I can do now is leave her my coat and some rest. I praise her determination. All it takes is a wave of my hand; like a merciful god I ease her pain.

I left her there with my coat and the barest kiss of my hand on her forehead. I'm sorry; I will never hurt you. On purpose.

I had faith in her, as Clow did, but I wasn't as certain as he was. The magician wasn't infallible, after all. He hadn't Seen how much she would attract me, as a magnet attracts to the opposite pole. It was inevitable, but he didn't See it.

She didn't cry because she was scared. She cried because she didn't want everyone to lose their love, I realized later. Perhaps that's why it hurt to see her cry.
