"I can't believe this has happened again!" a girl said, running up to him. She was clearly distressed, but not more distressed than Watanuki was. After all, trading places with Mokona--!
Mokona appeared to be amused by the fact that it had thumbs.
"I'm so sorry!" the girl said, looking in-between Watanuki (who had never felt so short) and Mokona. She tended to want to direct her words to Mokona, since it looked human, and then she remembered that he, Watanuki, was the human being who looked suspiciously like a meatbun.
"I didn't expect it to get out of my hands, but the Change card is so tempermental..." She threw up her hands, but then remembered something and instead clapped a little. "Oh, it will be okay, though! This has happened before. We just have to come back here tomorrow and recreate this scene, and I'll let the Card go again."
"Who are you?" Watanuki asked petulantly. A girl this young shouldn't have dangerously powerful cards and not be able to control them. What was she, twelve?
"I'm Cardcaptor Sakura!" she said, striking a pose.
"Sakura-chan? Sakura-chan?"
A girl emerged from behind the building. She had dark hair and seemed worried until she saw Sakura.
"You took off after the card and I was so worried. Who's your friend? Oh, and this is sooo cute!" she said, and squealed, and picked Watanuki up to cuddle him. Watanuki's short temper didn't give, but it was close.
"Tomoyo-chan, there's been another incident with the Change card," Sakura said. Mokona picked itself up off the ground, marveling at the fact that it had knees, and glomped Tomoyo and Watanuki.
"Hyuu!" it said happily.
"Who is this?" Tomoyo asked, clearly surprised by Mokona's affection.
"Well, this is... ah..."
"Watanuki Kimihiro and Mokona," Watanuki said, making introductions. Tomoyo cuddled him again.
"You're as cute as Kero-chan! My mom's toy company would love this..."
"That is me," Watanuki said, annoyed, pointing to his real body, and trying to squirm out of her arms. When he did, he grabbed the false Watanuki's school uniform and climbed onto his own shoulder. That was weird.
"I'm so sorry to have inconvenienced you, Watanuki-sempai. Like I said, if you come back tomorrow at this time, we can switch you back."
"Not any sooner?!" Watanuki said, panicked. Who knew what the meatbun could do, pretending to be him?
"No, I'm sorry," she said, with an apologetic bow.
"Sakura-chaaan!" another voice called in an Osakan accent. Mokona looked surprised.
"See you tomorrow!" it said quickly, and sped away with Watanuki holding on for his life.

"Yuuko, you won't believe what's happened!" Watanuki said when he came back into the shop, hopping up on a ledge to look at her face. She didn't seem surprised to see Mokona with Watanuki's vocabulary, for some reason. She listened to the whole story and said, "Well, did you get the bean paste?"
The bean paste had been the prompt for their outing. It was something they needed for dinner that night.
"No, I didn't get it! And how do you expect Mokona to make dinner anyway, it's just now discovered fingers!" Watanuki fumed as his body settled in next to Yuuko in an entirely too comfortable manner. He hoped that Mokona and Yuuko wouldn't end up drinking sake half the night, for the sake of his virgin liver. Plus, he'd be the one with the hangover, wouldn't he?
"Mokona can learn," Yuuko said, patting Watanuki on the head. "You know, this is a good look for you. No one can take you seriously when you look like this."
"You don't take me seriously anyway!" Watanuki reminded her. She smiled and Watanuki sighed and tried to teach Mokona how to cook.
It was the longest day of his life, he thought later, the day he let Mokona go to school. No one remarked on it later, except Himawari, who said he'd been rather exuberant the day before, but he got strange looks for weeks and not even Doumeki could be coaxed into telling him what "he" had done.
And when the owner of the Osakan voice that Mokona had fled showed up, he tended to believe the meatbun got what he deserved. Apparently there were other creatures who didn't appreciate Mokona's tendency to steal all of the sweets.
Watanuki exchanged a long glance with Cardcaptor Sakura, as the small orange plush chased after the small black one, but neither of them chose to comment.
