Excerpt: The young man on her arm looked nothing like him, and for some reason this disappointed Touya, until he looked into the man's eyes and saw a soul much too old for the body. This, then, was Kaho's beau.

It had been years since he'd seen Kaho, but he recognized her instantly, even from behind. That gorgeous auburn hair of hers never changed.

She turned when he called, and she smiled, and Touya's heart accelerated. She always had that effect on him, though it wasn't as bad as when they last met. It had been a long time, after all.

The young man on her arm looked nothing like him, and for some reason this disappointed Touya, until he looked into the man's eyes and saw a soul much too old for the body. This, then, was Kaho's beau.

"Touya, how have you been?" she said, and the careless dropping of the honorific burned a little bit. Yukito squeezed his hand, reminding him that the past was past. Yuki was good at reading between the lines.

"Doing good. And you, Kaho?"

Her name came so easily to his lips, and it burned a little less than her greeting. There was history, yes, but it wasn't something to forget. It was something to treasure.

She told him that before she left the first time, and he hadn't believed her, but her other prediction had also come true, so it wasn't surprising that now he agreed with her wholeheartedly.

"Great. Actually, we're here on honeymoon," she said, her eyes sparkling, and she cuddled a little closer to her husband. He almost looked familiar. His name was on the tip of Touya's tongue...

"Would you like to introduce me to Touya-kun, Kaho?" he spoke, and the look in his eyes triggered something in Yukito, who clutched Touya's hand hard.

"I'm afraid you have the advantage of me. I don't know who you are," Touya said politely, even though this younger man had called him -kun. He fought down irritation for Kaho's sake. He wanted her to leave on good terms this time-- good terms both ways.

"This is Hiiragizawa Eriol, my husband," Kaho said, and Eriol looked fondly down at her. Her answering smile was loving.

"Eriol, this is Kinomoto Touya. I don't believe you got to meet him the last time you were in town. And, of course you know Tsukihiro Yukito. He's Touya's--"

Here Kaho paused, and her glance was teasing and challenging, an echo of the glance she'd given him once after she took the chance and said that she loved him.

"He's my-- he's my--" Touya began, blushing, and looking down at the boy clutching to his hand. There was clearly some sort of argument going on there; his face was blank, with an occasional flicker of emotion. Yue was upset, Touya thought, and filed his questions away for later.

"He's mine," Touya said simply, pulling Yukito to him, and Yuki smiled thankfully. Touya could feel his heart beating at what seemed like the maximum heart rate. Yuki would have a lot to explain when they got home. He remembered vaguely Sakura mentioning this Eriol before, but he hadn't been aware of how deeply Eriol had been involved in her life, and Kaho's.

"It's good to see you again, Tsukihiro-san," Eriol said, bowing formally, and they traded a few more pleasantries until the Hiiragizawa's excused themselves. Touya and Yuki continued walking.

After a moment, Touya opened his mouth to ask, but then shut it, and held tight to Yuki's hand.

Yuki was his now, and that was really what mattered.
