Title: Sibling Rivalry
Prompt: 14. CCS: What was Kero and Yue's interaction like when Clow was alive? How does it differ with present day and Yue separate from Kero?

Summary: When they were with Clow, Yue and Kero felt like brothers. The day Yue woke, they stood as rivals.

When Kero woke, the first thing he missed was his brother. He'd never admit it, of course, but when Sakura was gone to school he was lonely. Sure, the video games were great, but with no Yue to conquer there was no fun in it.

When he met Yue again, after all those years, he remembered the time they'd all had a snowball fight and gotten Yue's hair soaked, the time they stayed up late waiting for Santa Claus and then made fun of Clow when he came down the chimney (sure, he claimed he was the real thing, but they knew). He remembered playful wrestling, and learning to fly, and the times they wanted to kill each other.

Then he leapt forward to defend his chosen candidate against his beloved brother, to force Yue to see his point of view, and all of the time he was wondering why Clow had arranged things like this. He never quite understood the master.

And after Judgment, he realized that he didn't really understand Yue, either.

Wow, completely forgot I requested this. XD And I like your take on it, with just the right amount of happiness to balance out the angstiness I so adore. :) I just think these two have so much potential as the focus of stories but they are so neglected. ;_;

He never quite understood the master. It makes me wonder if anyone ever did...

In the series, all Kero ever says about Clow's personality is that he was odd or eccentric, so I don't think the poor guy understood him too well.

I'm going to post it up at 50fantastic too; it's just that I found my flash drive again and I thought that for safety reasons perhaps I should get it up somewhere in case I lose it again....
