Note: If you're wearing your slash goggles, this may seem like Watanuki/Doumeki, but that isn't the intention. Doumeki is such a good contrast to Watanuki that he explains Watanuki's character perfectly.

Watanuki likes to seem angry. Then he doesn't look afraid. Yes, he knows it's stupid.

Doumeki sees right through him, and always has, and that is why Watanuki honestly dislikes Doumeki. Doumeki scares him. Doumeki looks too closely.

Doumeki is becoming too important to Watanuki's health and safety, and all the people who are important to Watanuki die.

(Except Yuuko. She's just too ornery.)

So Watanuki screams at Doumeki and Doumeki stares back, implacable, and no matter how hard Watanuki tries, he can't get Doumeki to go away.

And he's starting to like having Doumeki around, and that scares him too. That archer is just too big of a headache for words.
