No Complications (Clow/Yuuko)

Comm: [livejournal.com profile] 1sentence
Words: 1414
Fandom: xxxHOLiC
Pairing: Clow Reed/Yuuko Ichihara
Theme set: Beta
Rating: PG for mention of sex

Disclaimer: xxxHOLiC belongs to CLAMP.

01. Walking
When he saw her he liked the way she walked, silky, sultry, confident.

02. Waltz
He said he would teach her how to waltz, and even though she protested, he did, and when he dipped her, she shut her eyes and her heart thrilled.

03. Wishes
Everyone who came to her wanted something; he was the only person who wished for her.

04. Wonder
He wondered at Maru and Moro; she smiled and was thankful that he never asked her age (now, that would be something to marvel at).

05. Worry
She was a little worried when his cough became deeper, but that was forgotten when he told her the real reason he was going to die.

06. Whimsy
Some of the cards were her suggestions, inspirations of whimsy (later he would wonder what they actually did).

07. Waste/Wasteland
When he died, she thought it had all been a waste (she knew he would say that at least they had their good times, and that irritated her more).

08. Whiskey and rum
It started with whiskey and rum as a nightcap, but when she had to spend the evenings alone the drinking increased.

09. War
"You realize what this means," she said, quirking an eyebrow and brushing the fresh snow from her kimono.

10. Weddings
Yuuko hated weddings and Clow didn't want to have one, so there were no rings, no complications, no ties.

11. Birthday
He never forgot her birthday (or at least, the day she called her birthday) and always surprised her with cake and candles and a thousand other birthday things she claimed she hated; she forgot it herself the first year she was gone, and didn't have the heart to buy her own cake when she remembered a week later.

12. Blessing
She scoffed at the idea of blessings, wishes freely given, and he touched her nose and said that she was one, and knew he lied (she cost more than any woman he'd ever known).

13. Bias
She suggested pink and blue for the theme colors for his guardians; he simply laughed and said she was biased-- he was going with silver and gold ("Unimaginative," she scolded).

14. Burning
Having sex with him was like slowly burning from the tips of her toes to the top of her head, and being doused with water at climax.

15. Breathing
She was there when his breathing stopped, when he screamed and split and became two strangers; her own breathing hitched as she looked at the detriments of his life on the ground: glasses, robe, ponytail holder.

16. Breaking
She hadn't believed that he was going to do it until he actually did, and she bit her lip until it broke.

17. Belief
She believed in nothing she couldn't see, so she believed in quite a lot (kitsune, warashi, his smile).

18. Balloon
Eriol showed up at her door with a balloon and a smile, like she was a six-year-old, like that was all he needed to be forgiven for his death, and she slammed the door in his face (she could hear the balloon pop and she smiled evilly).

19. Balcony
She stood out on the balcony and watched as he attempted to open his own front door; snorting, she walked downstairs and told him to be thankful that she agreed to housesit when he went to magician conventions.

20. Bane
"Commitment is the bane of my existence," she said lazily; he wasn't considering giving her a ring, but now he considered it, just to see her face.

21. Quiet
Yuuko's shop was generally more quiet than Clow's manse, and had the added benefit of no guardians to be traumatized if they accidentally walked in on something.

22. Quirks
"He was a strange man," Kero would say later; if asked, Yuuko always said there was more strange than man (but she let him have his quirks).

23. Question
"Will you love me when I'm gone?" he asked, turning puppy-dog eyes on her; "I'll die before you," was her answer, a way to avoid the question.

24. Quarrel
They quarreled loudly and often, as equals did, and she had as much fun sparring verbally with him as she did kissing him.

25. Quitting
"I quit," she said, banging her head against the desk, as Clow wavered once again on the gender identity of Yue.

26. Jump
It was quite a jump from her pupil to her bed, but a leap and a bound and a kiss put him there quickly.

27. Jester
He liked to play the comedian; unfortunately his jokes weren't funny, and Yuuko wouldn't encourage him by laughing (okay, maybe only a little bit).

28. Jousting
He taught her how to joust with magic, something he'd done as a child; they only did it once, because she knocked him flat on his back and tickled him until he gave up.

29. Jewel
He never gave her a ring, but after they'd been together for five years, he gave her a set of earrings; she smiled and put them away in her jewelry box, and after he died she took them out and looked at them sometimes.

30. Just
"Just don't," she cautioned when he tried to get her to reveal her real name; she never told anyone (she whispered it at his grave).

31. Smirk
After a while, they had matching smirks, and Kero and Yue learned to flee when they saw those twin grins.

32. Sorrow
She always thought there was an undercurrent of sorrow in his eyes when he looked at her, and when she stood there at his grave she realized why (he had Seen this, that bastard, and hadn't told her).

33. Stupidity
"I want to know how to create life," Clow said to her, and she replied, "You are the stupidest magician I've ever met" (she taught him anyway, loved him anyway).

34. Serenade
He taught the Song card to serenade her with her favorite song; she was flattered, but would have been more appreciative had it been mimicking any other singing voice than his own (awful) one.

35. Sarcasm
She told him once that she invented sarcasm and he always wondered a little if that was true.

36. Sordid
"You won't get me involved in your sordid nightly activities!" she pretended to protest; he lifted an eyebrow and she laughed, "What and when?"

37. Soliloquy
When he worked alone-- or forgot she was there-- he often talked to himself in low tones; she learned a lot about him from his muttering.

38. Sojourn
Fifteen years after he died, she took a solitary sojourn to his home, intending to render it into ashes, but in the end she couldn't do it, couldn't erase all those memories.

39. Share
Clow and Yuuko were bad at sharing-- two separate blankets eventually solved the issue.

40. Solitary
He would sometimes spend hours locked in his lab, answering to no inquiries; she walked the hallways alone plotting his doom when he emerged (tired, but smiling with the answer to his question, and so cute that all her plans fell away).

41. Nowhere
She wondered where he went when he died-- not just his memories, his appearance, but his being-- and didn't think that it didn't go anywhere, it stayed with her, a ghost she couldn't see but always felt.

42. Neutral
She tried to be neutral to Yue; she knew he didn't like her, knew she could never be good enough for his master (knew Yue loved Clow, not in the way that was intended, but she never told Clow).

43. Nuance
It was amazing how the nuances of body language worked on him-- a carefully bared ankle, dainty wrist, sweet grin-- and he was on top of her, tickling, teasing, kissing (of course, she always did it on purpose).

44. Near
They were always near each other, but somehow they never quite collided-- satellites orbiting, never touching what was deep.

45. Natural
They did not hesitate to give in to natural urges to have sex, time after time, always hoping quietly that their need for the other would dissolve so they didn't have to be dependent (it never did).

46. Horizon
They sat up and watched the sun rise over the horizon on the day he was to die; he seemed tired, but she felt more like the condemned man than he did.

47. Valiant
She made a valiant attempt to ignore his hand stroking down her thigh, but valiantly she failed and fell into his arms and his touch.

48. Virtuous
Strange as it would seem to them all now, she didn't lose her virtue until she met him (she'd never met a man worth her time).

49. Victory
The day he died, she put the earrings on that he gave her, and thought sourly that wherever his soul was it was claiming victory: he had caught her in the end.

50. Defeat
And the day after he died, she put the earrings back in the jewelry box, and her heart claimed defeat until death claimed her.

My favorite one is the war one, it made me laugh!!

Now I want to do sentences and I don't have time. D:

What's funny is that it does take a surprising amount of time. It took me about two hours to write all those sentences, and it's only twice the length of my normal fics.

The war one is my favorite too. ^^

Lovely again. :D

<< I'm looking at your journal and keep seeing fics. xD;

Um, yeah. I write way too much. I've got a series of thirty Clow/Yuuko drabbles under the tag "psych_30" if you're interested....

Lovely, again. :)

Although 3 was my favorite, 25 made me burst out laughing.

I think 3 is my favorite too.

But #25 was sort of mean and hilarious. XD
