01. Comfort
Clow leans over and runs his hand through Yuuko's hair, and sleepily she wonders when it became uncomfortable to sleep without him (she doesn't like this dependence).
02. Kiss
Their first kiss was rough and desperate; he couldn't believe that she kissed him back, and she couldn't believe it either.
03. Soft
"Going a little soft in the gut there?" he jokes, poking her stomach, but it's his fault for being such a good cook, she answers.
04. Pain
"I knew you were on this Earth to bring me pain," she said, tears filling her eyes, and he replies thoughtfully, "I thought I was here to bring you wine" (but the joke falls flat; he is still going to die).
05. Potatoes
The English dishes he made with potatoes were the best, except that he always made her peel the skins herself (usually she ended up paying Mokona to do it).
06. Rain
"Drama queen," she scoffed when he stepped out of the storm into her parlor, perfectly dry (she wondered if he'd teach her the trick).
07. Chocolate
They both had a weakness for chocolate, and any gift they gave to each other had probably been previously sampled...
08. Happiness
She won't say she's happy with him because she knows he's going to go away and she won't give him that satisfaction.
09. Telephone
They had no telephone back then, of course, but when Clow went on long trips he took Soel, and she would never admit to it, but she made sure to keep Larg in earshot, just in case he "called."

"You have beautiful ears, Yuuko," Clow said thoughtfully; she swatted him playfully and said, "You're thinking about my ears when I'm naked?"
11. Name
Clow put great stock in names; that was why he was so floored by the titles of her shop help ("Flashing and Streaking? how appropriate is that, Yuuko-chan?").
12. Sensual
The sight of her lounging languidly on the futon made him swallow a little, especially when she looked up at him and licked her lips.
13. Death
She never expected to be the one standing at his grave; she was supposed to die first (that's why she never went).
14. Sex
The sex was good and frequent and rough; they seemed to fit together exactly as they should, as pleasurably as possible.
15. Touch
The day he told her he was going to die, she wouldn't let him touch her; she knew that if he did, even one fingertip, she would break.
16. Weakness
Clow was her only weakness (Clow, and good sake).

She didn't shed a tear when she watched him screaming as his body split in two, though she shook and fell to the floor.

Time moved slowly when they were together; after he died, she looked out onto a world moving faster by the day, and didn't like it.

One day she thought she heard his voice on the wind; it turned out to be Fujitaka, and she wanted to hit him for disappointing her but knew it wouldn't do any good.

She tried to tell herself she was free of him, but she felt shackled by the loss.
21. Life
"Grant me the power to create life," he had said, determined; she had laughed and said that the price was death, and yet he'd dared it (that was why she wouldn't grant those sort of wishes any more).
22. Jealousy
She was jealous of the way his work took up all his time, and often in the evening she would use her feminine wiles to distract him away from preparing for his heir (wasn't it ridiculous that she was jealous of someone not even born?).
23. Hands
He had working-man's hands, big, rough, and scratched up from spell-casting and Kero's little teeth ("he'll be trained soon enough," Clow vowed to Yuuko, but she simply lifted an eyebrow).
24. Taste
The day he kissed her and she tasted like chocolate cherries they stayed in bed all day, making love for hours.
25. Devotion
It wasn't really devotion they had to each other, more need than desire.
26. Forever
"We could be together forever," she said one day in the dark; he didn't answer, pulling her close instead, and that's when things began to fall apart.
27. Blood
There was an extraordinary amount of blood on his arm for such a shallow cut and a sheepish look on his face as he presented the injury to her (she taped him up for a price-- two good backrubs).
28. Sickness
She thought that he would be sickly when he died, but he was hearty and well, despite the sleepless nights and uncertainty.
29. Melody
One day he played piano for her and she pretended not to like that classical stuff, but she found herself humming it on the way home.
30. Star
He pointed Sakura's star out to Yuuko; in celebration, Yuuko threw a paper airplane in its general direction.
31. Home
By the time that she realizes how much his mansion felt like home, he is gone and she is living in the shop alone.
32. Confusion
When he told her of his plan she pretended confusion so he would explain; really she wanted to hear that this wasn't his plan at all and he would stay with her.
33. Fear
She couldn't figure out where he got a fear of spiders, Clow, the invincible magician, but she commended him on that (there certainly was some danger there).
34. Lightning/Thunder
They sit on his porch one night and predict where the lightning will fall next; the game doesn't last long because he gets every one right and she sulks for the rest of the evening.
35. Bonds
"There are more bonds that just physical ones," Clow says darkly, and she can never get him to explain himself (later she understands, later).
36. Market
People who saw them in the market snatched their children away; Yuuko made it into a game of who could frighten the most mothers (she always won, Clow was too polite).
37. Technology
Technology was never as fun as sitting down and talking through Larg to Clow; or perhaps it was simply that he hadn't lived long enough to see the phone.
38. Gift
Four good gifts and one bad one, he said, seeming pleased with himself (the bad gift was a plush Soel he made for her; not bad at all, and something she saved for a very long time).
39. Smile
"Your smile is dangerous," she says dryly, but the grin doesn't fall from his face (a very dangerous weapon, indeed).
40. Innocence
The only thing she was innocent in was bed, and that didn't last very long (he was a good tutor, hmm).
41. Completion
"They complete me," he said, gesturing grandly to the newborn guardians, and part of her wondered why she couldn't fulfill him herself.
42. Clouds
The afternoon before he dies, they spend cloud-watching, heads to the sky, and she clutches his arm hard so he can't tell that she's shaking.
43. Sky
The sun is high in the sky the day she buries what is left of him (spell, glasses, robes), and the sweat drips unpleasantly into her eyes as she digs.
44. Heaven
"Angel," he calls her fondly, a joking nickname; she laughs and replies, "the angel of death."
45. Hell
Digging the grave is difficult and she half-wishes he had gone to Hell instead of into the future.
46. Sun
"You're my sunshine," he says to her as the lightning crackles outside his window, as he dies; to this day she won't listen to that song, the one that reminds her of the stupid magician.
47. Moon
There is both sun and moon in Clow, and Yuuko is made of stars; somehow the heavens are all one.
48. Waves
One day they hike to the seashore and he lets the waves weigh down his robes; she laughs and pushes him in.
49. Hair
No one gets away with playing in Yuuko's hair, not even Clow.
50. Supernova
A blinding flash of light, a supernova, and her world falls apart and Clow does too.
