They have each other's backs in every way, and Nita thinks that maybe it should be scarier to commit this way than it actually is for her. She knows exactly what is in Kit's heart, has trusted him with her life dozens of times, and she doesn't hesitate to say yes when he asks her to marry him, even though they are in the midst of a cataclysm that might just destroy Earth (and several surrounding stars) unless they can get through it.

One day she might die in Life's service, but until then, she and Kit will keep living, and they'll do it together, always.
