Obi-Wan acts; he can't stop himself when he sees something that needs to be done and it looks like it might go unnoticed. Yoda always told him to wait for the right moment, but he's too afraid to let that moment slip away -- after all, hadn't he waited much too long on Anakin, hadn't it been his fault in the end?

He hands Luke the lightsaber and tells him that they have to go, the old urgency rising in him like the sand dunes rise in the storm, and he prays he'll be there in time to do what's right.
