"Or," the Doctor says, in the deeply serious voice he uses when he is at his least serious, "those will be our footsteps, and we've gone a little further back in time than we should -- come on, Sarah, we must be off!"
He jams his hat down further on his head and Sarah Jane shakes her head, but follows, a smile curling at her lips; her heart is pounding and she will never be able to write this up in the newspaper but she is having the time of her life anyway.
