Goldie said nothing.
"It was all long before we met, I'm sure those women aren't going to come back. Especially since I didn't tell them my real name. Don't want to get in too deep, you know. I wouldn't share all my secrets with just anyone."
Silence.
"You're different, of course! I was going to do it right this time!"
The statue gleamed in a way that seemed, to Stan's rheumy eyes, disapproving.
"Fine," he said grumpily, "but I'm not paying any alimony, you hear?"
