[Puella Magi Madoka Magica] what of soul was left (Kyouko/Sayaka)
Title: what of soul was left
Fandom: Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Length: 259 words
Prompt: fic_promptly: Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Kyouko/Sayaka, impulse
Pairing: Kyouko/Sayaka
Other: Slight AU to episode 4.
Excerpt: The kiss was harsh, like Kyouko was harsh: Kyouko's teeth were in it, lips too damp, and she pressed Sayaka against the wall a little too hard.
The kiss was harsh, like Kyouko was harsh: Kyouko's teeth were in it, lips too damp, and she pressed Sayaka against the wall a little too hard. Sayaka was dazed. She could feel everything, suddenly. Too much. The bricks were hard against her back, and Kyouko tasted like apples. She didn't know how to kiss back, really, but she did her best. Kyouko's hands tangled in Sayaka's shirt, pulling her closer. When they broke apart, they were both panting harshly in the silence. (At least Madoka wasn't here, or Mami. It was just them, inches from death and full of desperate want.)
Kyouko wiped her mouth off. "That's why," she said. "Don't do it for him. He isn't worth it."
"Kyouko..." Sayaka said uncertainly, and then she wiped at her eyes a little. She reached out slowly, and touched Kyouko's cheek, in a careful way that suggested Kyouko would flee from the contact. Kyouko was feral and impulsive. Sayaka had tamed her, a little, enough for a kiss, but building something beyond that... well, Sayaka just didn't know.
"I could fight alongside you," Sayaka said impulsively, and Kyouko stepped back, scowling. She pulled a licorice stick from her pocket and started chewing it noisily.
"Don't be stupid," she said. "I'm trying to tell you, don't waste your life on anyone. Especially me."
Before Sayaka could react, Kyouko turned smartly on her heel. With a flap of her skirt, she was gone.
Sayaka pressed her fingers to her lips for a moment, and then she went back into the house.
