[Polychromatic/Magic Knight Rayearth] rough draft before the final masterpiece (Geo/Eagle)
Title: rough draft before the final masterpiece
Fandom: Polychromatic/Magic Knight Rayearth
Length: 526 words
Prompt:
poly_crack fic meme: Geo/Eagle, genderswapped
Pairing: slight Geo/Eagle
Other: Set in Polychromatic during a genderswap curse.
Excerpt: Geo had hardly changed, and boy, was he glad for that.
Geo had hardly changed, and boy, was he glad for that. He felt more gawky as a woman, though. His height hadn't changed by much, maybe a couple inches, but he'd lost quite a few pounds of muscle. He had to stand differently. His hair was still short, but but now he had a braid that kept hitting him in the back. It was weird.
Eagle had the worse of it, though, in Geo's opinion. He made a very attractive woman (not that Geo was looking, and even if he was, well, he was still a man looking at a woman, no matter how he looked right now). Eagle had been fending off various romantic advances ever since they'd went out to dinner. Even when he told them that he was usually a man, it hadn't dissuaded half of them.
Eagle had taken their words as complimentary, because that was how they were meant, but Geo could tell that he had grown tired of them quickly. Both men (...women? Geo wasn't sure how to think of it) were glad to be back home. Eagle hung up his cloak and sighed a little. They were alone in the apartment; Lantis had disappeared before either of them had woken. Geo figured he had found a tree to hide in so that no one would see him looking like a girl. Hiding seemed to be his default state, which Geo thought was strange, actually, considering that his job was fighting. He'd known Lantis for a while now, but he thought he'd never really know him well.
"I never realized how much my mother actually put up with," Eagle said, smiling just a little. He brushed his long, pale hair back out of his face. "It's tiresome, being constantly interrupted."
For no reason at all that Geo could produce, he found himself blushing. He looked away from Eagle. He wanted to tell him that he was actually prettier than Mrs. Vision had been, but he wasn't sure how well Eagle would take that. They never talked about his mother, and probably it wasn't polite to compare a man to his mother in beauty standards.
"Perhaps next time we should stay in, Geo," Eagle said, removing his shoes, which were now much too large to fit. He'd stuffed them with rags and now he winced. Apparently his female feet were more delicate than his male ones, and he'd worn a blister on his heel.
"Yeah," Geo said, for lack of anything better to say. When Eagle settled himself down on the couch, picking up the book he'd left there, Geo joined him. Without a book, he was forced to contemplate. The more he contemplated, the more Eagle's girlish form arose in his thoughts. And then there were feet in his lap. He looked over, almost panicked.
Eagle smiled. "Rub my feet, would you? Thanks," he said, looking over the top of his book.
Geo nodded, his mouth dry, and he took Eagle's left foot in his big hands.
For the first time today, he was glad that he was a girl. His interest in her feet wasn't as obvious as it might have been.
