[xxxHOLiC] Admit Impediment (fem!Clow/Yuuko)
Title: Admit Impediment
Fandom: xxxHOLiC
Length: 213 words
Prompt: Genderbent fic: Clow/Yuuko for
measuringlife.
Pairing: slight fem!Clow/Yuuko
Other: In which Clow has always been a woman.
Excerpt: Clow Reed is nothing like Yuuko Ichihara, except in the broadest categories: they are both female, and magicians. But where Yuuko is loud and boisterous, tall and exquisitely dressed, Clow is quiet and smiling, petite and simply clothed.
Clow Reed is nothing like Yuuko Ichihara, except in the broadest categories: they are both female, and magicians. But where Yuuko is loud and boisterous, tall and exquisitely dressed, Clow is quiet and smiling, petite and simply clothed in dresses that are an odd marriage of her heritages-- corsets and button-hook shoes, high-collars and broad sleeves.
She is cheerfully self-deprecating, with a quiet laugh she hides behind a fan. She hides a lot behind that fan-- a sharp mind, magical power that dwarfs even her closest competitor, and a more-than-healthy sense of ego that rarely sees daylight in mixed company.
They are strange friends. Yuuko tends to employ Clow as a seamstress, a consultant, a drinking companion, and a confidant all at once. Clow just smiles and bows and goes along. She puts up with Yuuko's teasing about her small bust, her Card children, her lack of alcohol tolerance, and everything else.
Sometimes when Clow can be convinced to have a drink or two, she ends up with her head in Yuuko's lap. The taller woman rakes her fingers through Clow's hair, which is always much messier than the rest of her person. She takes out Clow's loose braids and smiles just a little and they don't say anything.
