Tina never made Finn feel inadequate. Rachel and Quinn had always expected so much of him, but Tina liked him for who he was. She didn't overwhelm him with big words or drag him to Celibacy Club. He liked making her laugh because her eyes lit up when she did, and after how depressed she was when her relationship with Artie ended, Finn wanted to make her laugh more often.
"You're really kind of sweet," she said to him after Glee practice one afternoon, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear and looking up at him.
"You're pretty awesome too, Tina," Finn answered, and she smiled back.
"S-s-say," she said quickly (because sometimes she still stuttered when she was nervous), "do you want to do something this weekend, Finn? You like Call of Duty, right? I haven't... I haven't had anyone to play it with lately."
"I'd love to," he said firmly. He hadn't known that Tina liked video games, but that just added another level to her coolness.
"I'll text you, then!" she said, giving him a small grin before turning and skipping away. She turned after a moment to wave at him, and he waved back.
