[Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog] only thing that ever has (Penny gen)
Title: only thing that ever has
Fandom: Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog
Length: 332 words
Prompt:Awesome Ladies Ficathon (DW): Doctor Horrible's Singalong Blog, Penny, what if it had been Penny's story?
Pairing: Penny gen
Other: n/a
Excerpt: Welcome back to Penny Savers, a blog about taking care of the homeless in New York City. I know I look a little rumpled today, but don't worry, it's all right.
Oh, hey, hi, okay, I think this is working, right? Can you hear me? Well, even if you can hear me I can't hear you, so. Okay.
Welcome back to Penny Savers, a blog about taking care of the homeless in New York City. I know I look a little rumpled today, but don't worry, it's all right. I was collecting signatures for the Caring Hands building project today - if you're new to Penny Savers, check out the links in the sidebar. We're trying to get enough signatures to convince the mayor to donate a new building for Caring Hands, and every one helps; you can download your own petition forms, or sign our online petition, or make a monetary donation. Anything helps, I promise! Even the smallest stuff, a name or a dollar. We'll put it to good use.
So. Right, I was collecting signatures, and there was... well, it was kinda strange to be honest, I'm not sure what to think of it, but Captain Hammer saved me from being hit by a van! Yes, the Captain Hammer. He sounded really interested when I told him about Caring Hands. I'm supposed to see him again, which is really exciting. Can you guys imagine how much steam the project will have with his support behind it? I can't even wait until Friday.
But I guess I should go... pick debris out of my hair or something, drink some tea, get ready for bed. Tomorrow will be here before I know it. But as always, I'll leave you with my favorite quotation. Margaret Mead said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
This is Penny Savers. I'll see you all again tomorrow night with the current state of the petition and some information on our next fundraising endeavor. Later!
