He thought-- very quietly-- that the Flood had really been unnecessary. Sure, there had been some misbehaving angels, but it wasn't like Upstairs hadn't dealt with that before without flooding the entire world and ruining a great deal of social progress.
2.
He'd give them the Sword again. Sometimes her face comes to him at odd moments, when he's daydreaming, on the edge of what might have been sleep if he ever slept. Her expression always makes him shiver. He hopes he's never that lost or desperate.
3.
Sometimes he thinks he's a better bookshop owner than he ever was an angel.
4.
He's a little afraid that one day he'll wake up and be bored with all of it. Thankfully, that hasn't happened yet.
5.
He always thinks that he'll eventually go Topside on a vacation, on leave, on a new assignment, but the fact of the matter is, he rarely does. The music is awful, the food is bland, and the conversation is worse. Heaven might be perfect, but it isn't half as fascinating as Earth.
