Eva had never imagined living like this, with beings to cater to her every whim. It would almost be relaxing if, you know, she wasn't being controlled by a disgusting gray slug. And if her "butler" had less limbs, because it was kind of creepy.

Her brainslug seemed to think she should appreciate the creature comforts, but Eva would rather live in a trailer with her husband and her son than spend another moment locked in her own body. Any thoughtspace she had to herself was full of anger and futility. If she just had one chance, she'd stomp the Yeerk to death. One chance! They were just slugs.

One day, she wouldn't be their furniture.
