Some Like It Hot (Layton gen)
Title: Some Like It Hot
Length: 185 words
Prompt: Professor Layton (Anon) Fan Meme: Layton and Legal in a hot tub
Pairing: Layton and Legal gen; slight Legal/Layton
Other: n/a
Excerpt: "Two old friends having a soak? What's inappropriate about that?"
"A hot tub, you say?" the professor said thoughtfully, looking at the round, raised pool. The other Luke grinned brightly, a grin that spread across his face like butter slowly melting. (That was another thing that hadn't changed about Luke: he'd always had that grin that made you think he hadn't done a thing.)
"Come on, Professor, try it out. With me."
"But Luke--"
"He's asleep in the room," the other said, waving a hand. "No problem."
Still, Layton hesitated. "I'm not sure it's appropriate."
"Two old friends having a soak? What's inappropriate about that?"
It was the way that the other Luke was smiling, but Layton couldn't find a polite way to express that, so reluctantly he stripped to his bathing suit and climbed in.
He felt uncomfortable in the bathing costume, even if it did cover most of his chest in jaunty stripes. He felt even more uncomfortable when the other Luke revealed his own.
"Do men normally go about without their shirts on at the beach?" Layton asked, scandalized.
Luke laughed. "Of course they do. And Professor?"
"Yes?"
"You can take off your hat."
