Excerpt: "Perhaps violence is only good for the violencer, not for the violenced. Relieves stress, though," Yuuko said thoughtfully, pulling her blade back away from Clow's neck.
"Do you know the meaning of gentle?" Clow asked mockingly, his sword an inch from her bloodred lips. The lady laughed.
"A little violence is good for you," she replied. He stood back. Lowering her sword from a blocking position, she reached up and unfastened the clip that was holding her hair. Practically before that ebony river could descend to her shoulders, she was attacking from what seemed like six places at once, cloaked in glamour. He found himself absolutely still, whisper-sharp steel at his throat. Her eyes smouldered.
"Perhaps violence is only good for the violencer, not for the violenced. Relieves stress, though," Yuuko said thoughtfully, pulling her blade back away from Clow's neck. His hand rose to the back of his neck and he looked confused. He had no idea how she'd gotten so good at swordplay so quickly. He'd never known a lady to pick up a sword before, either, not so willingly.
"You owe me a boon, Clow Reed."
"Boons are given by the lady the knight defended," Clow said, remembering the legends his father had once told him.
"Then you owe me a debt, as a man owes another," she replied silkily.
"You are the oddest woman I've ever met, Ichihara Yuuko," he said. She threw back her head and laughed throatily.
"You haven't seen anything yet, my dear magician," she replied, turning and walking away. His incredulous look followed her, but she didn't look back.
How did she know? he thought, and then, this makes things interesting.
He followed after her.
