untitled (Kaho gen)

Title: Kaho
Length: 267 words
Prompt: [livejournal.com profile] 365_characters
Pairing: slight Eriol/Kaho; past Touya/Kaho
Other: No continuity, just a character sketch.
Excerpt: It's not that Kaho can't remember things; rather that she gets lost on purpose, so her knight will rescue her (she's always thought that romantic).

It's not that Kaho tries to be mysterious; it's simply that she understands everything in short bursts of logic, and this makes words unnecessary. It's simply that she instinctively knows things that she can't share just yet, not now. She's a teacher, and she knows how to teach-- you have to let them figure some things out for themselves.

It's not that Kaho is attracted to younger men; she barely even notices physical age. It is their souls that are as mature as hers is, their smiles that are young and innocent, yes, but also full of mischief and somewhat hard to come by. It is their hearts she loves.

It's not that Kaho is unpredictable; rather that she sees rather more of the picture than most other people do, and acts accordingly. And it hurts her sometimes, when she wants to stay in the same place and time forever, but she trusts in fate and listens when the still, small voice speaks.

It's not that Kaho can't remember things; rather that she gets lost on purpose, so her knight will rescue her (she's always thought that romantic). She forgets because she's unconcerned, because he will always find her. He-- both of them-- always found her in the end, and their smiles were sweet, even condenscending.

It's not that Kaho needs to make excuses for the person that she is; she simply lives her life and shuts her eyes to the rest of the world. All she needs now is Eriol and England and the guardians. They are her home.

That's one place she will never lose.
