Deer (Himawari gen)
Title: Deer
Length: 159 words
Prompt: icon meme
Pairing: Himawari gen
Other: n/a
Excerpt: At some point the kitty would stop spazzing out and let the dog lick his fur (ungratefully, like all cats, but all the same).
Himawari never rationalized it-- this strange habit she had of seeing other people as animals. It wasn't a mean thing. She just needed to... categorize them, in order to understand them.
So Watanuki was like a cat-- a spastic one, like the little calico she fed that wouldn't come too close. And Doumeki a dog, stoic, loyal, unwavering, like her uncle's dog. He never left her uncle's side, watching over him in the same way that Doumeki watched over Watanuki.
So it was natural that the two of them fought, and Himawari just smiled, watching the drama play out in that old way. At some point the kitty would stop spazzing out and let the dog lick his fur (ungratefully, like all cats, but all the same).
Himawari herself was a deer, flighty, quick, gone in a flash. She could be gone from them if she needed to, but not yet. She wanted to watch the kitty cat complain a little longer.
