Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather been together, the three of them, for a very long time. They would not slip sideways into timeless universes to keep their youth. It was okay to grow old together, as sisters.

They watched kings-- and kingdoms-- come and go, their accomplishments aided by little white wands. They did what they could to help-- it was a law of Faerie-- and though they were not in Faerie anymore, they were fairies. They were meant to ease pain, to guard those who needed guarding, to give guidance.

They blessed each new prince or princess as the child was born, with few problems. Someone-- something-- like Maleficent came along only very rarely. True evil was hard to find, no matter what human beings believed. Beyond a blessing in the cradle, at the wedding, and at the grave, the fairies did not interfere very often.

This was an unusual time, a time calling for desperate measures. Malificent had no issue intervening in a major way, and so their hands were forced. They would do everything they could to help the prince succeed.

Royalty would resolve itself; it always did. And in the future there would be a wedding, and a christening, and a grave to bless, and the three fairies would be there, keeping watch.
