Summary: Sakura being with Eriol has bent the threads of fate, and she goes to Yuuko looking for a solution. (crackfic warning)

Seeing the girl was almost a blow to Yuuko. Watanuki could hear her quick intake of breath, but when he turned to inquire, she had slipped into her cold-and-all-powerful-dimension-witch persona.

He knew it was a front, but he admitted that it was effective.

"Why are you here?" Yuuko said, and if her voice was a little more intense than usual, Watanuki wouldn't tell. He stood behind her and didn't move, trying to look like a frightening member of the witch's entourage.

"I've been having dreams," the girl said steadily, "and I thought I should come pay my respects to you, since you helped thread the strings of fate for me."

"You've been having dreams," Yuuko repeated thoughtfully. "Watanuki-kun, go start some tea. This girl and I need to talk."

"My name is Kinomoto Sakura," the girl said, "as you well know, Yuuko-okaa-san."

"Don't call me that!" Yuuko said, interrupting the tail end of her sentence. "Don't call me that," she repeated softly. "Your mother is dead. I did not give birth to you."

"No, but you made sure I would be born," Sakura said, and Yuuko sighed. "Watanuki-kun, please get the tea," she said, sounding drained. "I'd like mine made specially."

Watanuki knew she meant that her tea should be about five parts booze to one part tea, and under the circumstances, he decided to go along. How often does one have to confront a girl who claims that her existence is because of oneself?

The ratio was about seven parts sake to one part tea, but he knew Yuuko wouldn't mind.

"You and Eriol," Yuuko was saying when Watanuki came back, her lips a thin line of disapproval. "You realize what you have done?"

"I have begun to dream," Sakura answered. She had Mokona on her lap and was scratching it between its ears. The cuteness of the situation belied the seriousness of her words. "He merged his magic into mine on accident."

"He couldn't control it in the throes of passion," Yuuko said dryly. "Men do tend to expel everything then."

Watanuki handed out the tea and quietly reassessed the girl. She was a magician, and a powerful one from the way Yuuko was talking. She was young to be having sex, he thought, no more than fifteen. And there was a strange aura from her.

"We were caught up," she said, looking away and seeming ashamed.

"The threads are very tangled," Yuuko said, peering down at Sakura. "You realize he's almost like your uncle?"

A flush spread across Sakura's face. "It felt inevitable," she said. "It felt... right. Light to dark, young to old..."

"You have complicated things," Yuuko said.

"I have begun to see things," Sakura said, and though her voice was placid her eyes were full of horror. "I never wanted to see the future."

"I cannot help you," Yuuko said, downing her drink. She was momentarialy pleased to see Watanuki attendant with a second one, which she drank with the same gusto.

"I am Clow's heir. I would think that past history would be worth something," Sakura said.

"History is simply time, and time is something of which I have too much," Yuuko said, closing her eyes and leaning back in her chair. Her face was ageless, but Watanuki had the impression of something very old, almost primal.

"I can help you to die," Sakura said. It was at that point that Watanuki left the room. This was getting too personal for him.

Mokona followed after him into the kitchen and bounced up onto the counter, asking for a sweet. He gave it one.

"Mokona, who was Clow?" he asked, not really expecting an answer, but it smiled.

"Yuuko and Clow made Mokona!" it said happily. "I love Clow!"

"They made you?"

"Both Mokonas," it informed him.

"How long ago?"

"Long time," Mokona said, for a moment quiet. "Clow has been gone a long time. But Yuuko said, he lives in our heart!"

Watanuki didn't really feel like he had the answer to his question, and he didn't dare ask Yuuko. So he pushed the matter to the back of his mind and began to make dinner.

*

"I can help you to die," Sakura said.

"I don't believe so," Yuuko replied. "I have lived... a very long time."

It wasn't always the same body or the same name, but her consciousness remained in the world. It had always been there, ever since people began to dream.

There has always been someone to grant wishes.

"Aren't you tired, Yuuko-san?" Sakura persisted.

"I am always tired," Yuuko said. "I owe no debt to you or the one who came before you. I cannot stop your seeing. It would be best if you go."

"I will take your place," Sakura said, and in a place like this, power fell down around them and seemed to notice her words. A small bell rang somewhere in Yuuko's heart.

Sakura could, she thought, and the feeling rang true.

"Why?" Yuuko said, before she could stop herself.

"Hitsuzen," Sakura said. Fate has led me here.

"What is your price?" Yuuko asked. She'd never asked for a wish in her life. This wasn't the way things were supposed to be.

"I do not want to see anymore," Sakura said.

"Then close your eyes," Yuuko said. When Sakura lifted an eyebrow, it was the same expression that she had seen Clow wear so long ago, and she had to shut her own eyes to prevent a tear from escaping.

"I do not want to see anymore," Sakura repeated.

"That can be arranged," Yuuko said very quietly, and the thought made her less tired.

"What happened to the old lady?" the ninja said grumpily, eyeing this new development. This one seemed entirely too young to handle anything as important as sending him home.

"You look like me," the princess blurted out, surprised, and the dimension witch smiled.

"I thought you would say that," she said, not answering the implied question.

"And he looks like your father," the princess's companion whispered in her ear, looking towards the tall young man standing just behind the witch.

"Both of them," the princess corrected when a second man emerged from the house. This one was the boy they had met when they started their journey, so very long ago (yet he'd hardly aged). The other one had dark blue hair and a familiar smile. He looked at the dimension witch fondly, and after a moment her imposing figure smiled and clapped her hands.

"I am glad to see everything put to rights," Sakura said. "Yuuko told me all about you, and I was glad to help where I could. Now, shall I send you home?"

The blonde man lifted a finger in preparation to speak and Sakura nodded at him. "Of course, except for you. You can go with Kurogane. I think that would be nice, don't you?"

"What?!" the ninja began to protest, but something in Fai's gaze silenced him.

Sakura spun the magic and watched as the four disappeared into their worlds. Then she smiled and turned to her companions.

"That didn't go too badly, you think?" she asked.

"Not at all," Eriol said.

"I'm surprised Yuuko didn't want to stick around and see how this worked out," Watanuki said. He wasn't quite sure of his new employer yet. She didn't seem to be anything like Yuuko, though she said she would honor all wishes-in-progress, like his (like Yuuko, she appeared to be giving him the run-around).

"She knew," Sakura and Eriol both said together, and then they laughed. They gazed up for a moment into a sky that had just been rent twice between dimensions.

Then the dimension witch, her employee, her consort, and a pair of black and white meat buns turned and went back into the shop.

I like this. No, scratch that, I LOVE this. I don't ship ExS but this is really interesting. How you got to thread CCS, xxHolic and Tsubasa like that deserves lots of praise.

Great job!

Thank you very much. ^_^ I don't know what got into me, I just starting thinking, if Yuuko met Sakura, what would Sakura want? And now I've got this monster fic.

Thanks for reading, even if you don't ship the pairing. I know that turns a lot of people away from a fic. ^_^

Wow, this must be your longest written fic yet for EriolxSakura that I've read so far. I really like how you merged everything together. The whole merging magic thing...I remember reading a fic about how that came to happen, was that your's?

Thank you ♥

I think it was probably mine. XD I've written a couple of things in a similar vein.
