Created (Clow gen)

Title: Created
Length: 149 words
Prompt: icon meme
Pairing: Clow gen
Other: n/a
Excerpt: The thing that no one ever realized about Clow was that he thought he was expendable.

The thing that no one ever realized about Clow was that he thought he was expendable. He'd seen the future, he knew how things worked out, and his mind was already fifteen steps ahead of himself, working towards his death. He created the cards and Kero and Yue, and he created them for himself, yes, but he created them for her, really, and he didn't understand why Yue would be so upset. It wasn't like anyone could love someone like him, so ethereal... Yue had a future and Clow wouldn't get in the way of it.

And by not getting in the way of it, he got in the way, of course, because Clow never realized that he wasn't expendable, that he and his heart were worth something for what they had created.

And that, to be honest, explains everything about him.

I will never get how (to me) inherently cruel the whole thing is with Clow creating the guardians (and ultimately Eriol as well). They have to survive master after master, relearn how to love, trust and care. And always with the knowledge that yet again, he/she will leave them behind.

And by not getting in the way of it, he got in the way, of course, because Clow never realized that he wasn't expendable, that he and his heart were worth something for what they had created.

This makes me almost hate Clow and Eriol. ;__;

Probably not where you were going at all with this fic, but I've been weighing on the thought lately, and it struck a chord. Still, I love it. ♥

I've never really thought about it like that before, but you do have a good point. o.o That would make an interesting fic, really.

I have some weird, almost dark, thoughts toward my favorite series, it is true. xD I've always wanted to write it but I don't know what its like to lose someone you wholeheartedly loved like that, so I don't even attempt it. If it does something for you, go for it. I'd love to see it.
