Birthday Party (Touya/Yukito)
Title: Birthday Party
Prompt: Christmas 2008 theme: Christmas is for lovers; Yukito for
moko_ko_nyanko
Series: Cardcaptor Sakura
Character/Pairing: Yukito; Touya/Yukito implied; Kinomoto family
Rating: G
Wordcount: 274 words
Excerpt: Every year he was happy to gather with his family-- with Kero, and Fujitaka, and Touya, and Sakura-- and to love and be loved-- just like every other day of the year, but it was a good thing to have a special day marked on the calendar for it.
Tsukihiro Yukito's birthday fell on December 25th-- Christmas. In other parts of the world they celebrated the birth of someone greater than he, but here in Japan, Christmas was a holiday for lovers.
Yukito had many people he loved. The difference between loved and lover was very small, really, if one thought about it. One letter. He had a good time on his birthday with Sakura, and he had a good time with Touya, and if he were asked later which was better, he would be unable to decide.
This was not because he didn't love Touya enough-- he loved Touya enough that Sakura was his sister, and spending time with a beloved sister was just as good as spending time with the one he loved.
Yukito didn't remember celebrating his birthday before he came to Tomoeda. This was probably because he hadn't. Who knew who had given him a birthday, in the first place? He was a created person, with false memories that he'd cast away when he learned the truth. It was better to have no past and to build one's future, than it was to dream old false dreams and forget the present.
Every year he was happy to gather with his family-- with Kero, and Fujitaka, and Touya, and Sakura-- and to love and be loved-- just like every other day of the year, but it was a good thing to have a special day marked on the calendar for it. It made life even more special.
Yukito always felt special when he was with the Kinomoto's. Without them, December 25th was just another day.

Dude, I remembered that I received this story along with your Christmas card. Right on the very first day of December!! I still love it very much and it had feeling! I know very well how Yuki is considered like a part of the Kinomoto family.
You and I know very well that I'm a huge fan of Yukito Tsukishiro, but I do greatly respect anyone who ships Touya and Yukito. The last two sentences really was touching! ^o^ Great story!! *thumbs high*
Side note: I will write a special birthday dedication for Yuki!! *SQUEE!*
