For their first Christmas together, he gave her roses. She improvised a vase from an old empty bottle of liquor and looked at him expectantly.
"What?" Clow said.
"Is that all?" Yuuko replied.
"Roses in winter aren't very easy to find," he said, frowning, and maybe pouting a bit.
"I know you just asked Flower for help," she said, waving a hand airily. Clow's frown deepened, and he stared at her meaningfully. She giggled, running her hand down his arm in such a manner that he wished his sleeves weren't quite so thick. It seemed to be an absent-minded gesture, but it was full of sensual promise, like the way she walked, the way she talked, the way she lived. Clow had grown up in a time when it was scandalous to see someone's knees. He'd seen Yuuko's knees (and Yuuko's cleavage, and Yuuko's red, red lips) on their first date. Given, their first date hadn't been much of a date-- more of a rescue mission (he'd gotten tangled in his work a little too deeply and she'd had to pull him out and away from the spirits tapping their fingernails thoughtfully on the back of his neck).
The memory hit him hard, and he coughed, adjusting his robes, and then pulled a bottle out from his hidden pocket. Her eyes lit up.
"That's more like it!" she purred, taking it from him and cuddling it to her chest. Clow stared at her and said sadly, "I thought you'd appreciate the romance of flowers."
She paused in her oogling of the bottle and smiled at him, stepping forward to kiss him on each cheek, and then softly on the lips.
"I'm not much of a romantic, you know," she whispered, leaning her head against his chest in a manner he considered rather romantic, even if she was poking him a bit with the bottle. Since she was rarely so affectionate, he took the opportunity to wrap his arms around her and hold her for a second.
"Merry Christmas, Yuuko," he said in the moment before she squirmed out of his embrace and looked at him. She was wearing a rather familiar smile and he anticipated a bit of mischief.
"Wait until you see," she said cheerfully, taking his hand and pulling him out of the door, and it was enough for him to simply stand beside her for a moment, to breathe the cold air and feel the snow crunch under his shoes. The world was white and new and he had a wonderful woman at his side. Life was good.
And then she began to dance.
