Excerpt: Yue had left the bed when Yuuko came. At night, he stalked the hallways of the mansion.

She wouldn't share their bed, she said. She'd sooner wear his ring and knit pinafores all day. He reminded her that he was a much better knitter than she and she walked away in anger. Like most of Clow's relationships, his relationship with Yuuko didn't last very long.

They were, Clow concluded happily, much better friends than lovers, though Yuuko's passionate screams were something to remember.

Yue had left the bed when Yuuko came. At night, he stalked the hallways of the mansion. He didn't have to sleep, after all. (He couldn't sleep alone, anyway.)

But Yuuko left and after a week, Yue crept in the dark of night into his creator's bed, settling his wings protectively over a man who simply sighed in his sleep and smiled. And Cerberus stretched out at the foot, enduring their toes tucked into his fur for the comfort of their presences.

Before he slept, Yue half-wondered why Yuuko didn't realize how sweet and soft this was, pure as the virgin's bed, a sleep of righteousness, togetherness. It was a marriage of three, almost. In his sleep, Clow was not creator. He was just there, and they were there, and Yuuko wasn't. So Yue didn't dwell too long before he slept.
