Excerpt: Basic algebra was really throwing her for a loop. That's why she was glad that Kinomoto-sensei had offered to help.

Nadeshiko had never been good with math. Arithmetic was okay, and she knew how to multiply, but basic algebra was really throwing her for a loop. That's why she was glad that Kinomoto-sensei had offered to help, despite the fact that he was a history teacher. She jumped at any excuse to gaze into his sweet caramel eyes.

"So you have to get x by itself. That's the goal of algebra," he said with a warm smile, and she nodded. She turned the page in her notebook and then turned it quickly again, hoping he hadn't seen...

She almost hoped he had.

N+F=1, she had scribbled in the margins, and below that, Kinomoto Nadeshiko. She rather liked the sound.

Fujitaka didn't say anything that day when his eyes flitted over her paper and saw her strange arithmetic, but he had no problems making more appointments to tutor her in math.
