Excerpt: Sakura poked her head into her children's room. There she found the source of Kero's discomfort: the four-year-old twins Sasha and Ying Fa. They bounced innocently to their feet as she peeked in.

"Aahh! Sakuura-samaaa!!" someone yelled.

She opened her eyes and slowly lifted her head from the pillow, blinking sleepily. She glanced around dully. There was no one there.

"Sakuuuuraaaaa!!!" the someone yelled again.

Oh, she knew that voice. It was Kero-chan.

She closed her eyes again and crawled back into bed. Then, after a moment, her radio alarm went off.

Defeated, she opened her eyes. She couldn't hear Kero any more, but Sasha and Ying Fa were giggling. The radio was playing.

*

I get kissed by the sun each morning
Put my feet on a hardwood floor
I get to hear my children laughing
Down the hall through the bedroom door
Sometimes I sit on my front porch swing
Just soaking up the day
I think to myself, I think to myself
This world is a beautiful place

*

She smiled and got out of bed. Her bedpartner grunted and stirred sleepily, but the music wouldn't go away. He put the pillow over his head.

"Syao-chan," she whispered. "Get up."

He didn't stir. The radio kept playing.

*

I have been blessed
And I feel like I've found my way
I thank God for all I've been given
At the end of every day
I have been blessed
With so much more than I deserve
To be here with the ones that love me
To love them so much it hurts
I have been blessed

*

"Guess he won't get up," she said, beginning to smile. "I'll have to wake him..."

She sat back down on the bed and in a moment her practiced fingers had found the right spot...

Syaoran gasped and bolted upright.

"Syao-chan," she smiled, "you wouldn't get up. So I had to... tickle you!"

And she tickled him some more. Sakura knew the right spots and soon he was gasping for breath around his laughs.

"Enough! Enough!" he managed. "I give!"

"Good," she grinned.

"Your turn!" he said suddenly-and began to tickle her.

They rolled around on the bed like this for a couple minutes, but the joke turned into passion and he kissed her hard on the mouth. She kissed him back. He held her for a moment, then she smiled again.

"Good morning!" she said cheerfully, freeing herself from his embrace. "Breakfast will be ready in a few minutes!"

He watched openmouthed as she practically sashayed out of the room, flashing him a grin over her shoulder. The radio played.

*

Across a crowded room
I know you know what I'm thinking
By the way I look at you
And when we're lying in the quiet
And no words have to be said
I think to myself, I think to myself
This love is a beautiful gift

*

"No kidding," he said to it, and began to get ready for work.

Sakura poked her head into her children's room. There she found the source of Kero's discomfort: the four-year-old twins Sasha and Ying Fa. They bounced innocently to their feet as she peeked in.

"Good morning, Okaasan!" they said in chorus.

"Good morning," she returned.

"Saku--" Kero managed before one of the twins put their hand over his mouth.

"What have you done with Kero-chan?" she said with a wry smile.

"We was playing house, Okaasan!" Ying Fa said enthusiastically. "Kewo was da baby!!!"

And she brought him out from behind her back. The guardian beast was wearing doll clothes and a baby bonnet. He was also wearing a look of long suffering.

"I hate babysitting," he grumped. Sakura knew he was lying; he loved her children almost as much as she loved them.

"I'm making breakfast, okay? So get ready!"

"Yay!" the twins yelled, abandoning Kero and rushing for the things she had set out for them the night before. Kero flitted out of their room, following Sakura.

"Didn't you hear me yelling?" he said in a pained tone.

"Yes, I did," she agreed. "I came to rescue you, didn't I?"

"By Clow," Kero said, lifting his eyes to the ceiling, "you were a bit late!"

"One would think that the mighty Keroberos could handle two small children by himself," an almost emotionless voice replied, with faint undertones of amusement.

They frowned in puzzlement and entered the kitchen.

"Yue!" Sakura gasped. "What are you doing here?"

"What does it look like?" the angel-being replied, turning and lifting the frying pan from the stove. There was bacon and eggs in the pan, done just the way she liked them.

Keroberos snorted in laughter because he noticed that Yue was wearing an apron (it said "Yes, I Can Cook").

"Well," Sakura said, "it looks like you're cooking breakfast." She lifted an eyebrow.

"Yukito felt it was time to visit," Yue replied, taking the plates from the cabinet, "and I thought to make my mistress's life a bit easier."

"Well, thank you," she said, flashing him a bright smile. "Please, eat with us."

"I expect Yuki will, which is why I made a lot extra."

His lips almost curled into a smile. Sakura's cheer was contagious, and over the years he had lightened up a bit.

"Yuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!" came the twin yells of two small children. Yue winced. Sasha and Ying Fa ran in and wrapped their arms around his legs.

"Hello, children," he said in a slightly disapproving tone. Yue always put up the pretense that he disliked the children, but like Kero, he loved the pair almost as much as his mistress.

"Yu, pick me up!" Sasha begged. Neither he nor his sister could say "Yue" properly, so they called the guardian Yu.

"I wouldn't wish to burn you, little master," Yue replied, and gestured to the pan. "This is hot."

"Did you make us breakfast?" Ying Fa said, her eyes sparkling.

"Yes, I did, little mistress."

"Yay! Yu made us breakfast!!!!" she said. She let go of his leg and danced to her seat. Sasha found his.

"Yue???" came a disbelieving voice from the doorway: Syaoran had appeared. His molten-amber eyes were wide with surprise.

"Good morning, Li-sama," Yue said calmly.

Sakura laughed quietly as she watched them. What a scene--what a family, she thought affectionately. The chorus of that song ran through her mind.

Syaoran recovered from his surprise and Ying Fa ran over to him.

"Otusan!!!" she yelled happily as he picked her up and twirled her around. She was definitely daddy's girl, Ying Fa. She looked a lot like him, with his messy brown hair and one molten-amber eye (her other eye was emerald-green).

Yue set the frying pan down. Immediately Sasha noticed. His green and amber eyes, a twin to his sister's, were sharp.

"Pick me up now, Yu!" he said again.

"Little master..." Yue began, seemingly reluctant.

"Please?"

Yue gave in. Sakura smiled wryly. It was a beautiful picture, the angel and her little four-year-old son.

"No one runs to Okaasan, huh?" she said to herself. "But that's okay. I bet you will," she whispered to her belly. Her third child was due in September, another girl they had already decided to name Nadeshiko.

When I'm singing my kids to sleep
When I feel you holding me
I know:
I have been blessed
And I feel like I've found my way
I thank God for all I've been given
At the end of every day

"Yes," she said quietly, "I have been blessed."
