Excerpt: "I see the threads, once it has begun, if I choose," Yuuko said, "but you see the needle begin to weave."

"What's it like having to see the future?" Yuuko asked thoughtfully. She rolled over on the blanket and gazed up at the starry sky. Clow gave her a weird look.

"Ano, I thought..."

"That I always did?" Yuuko said, reaching up and capturing a star in her hand. Clow gave up on relaxing into sleep and turned over to stargaze as well.

"I see the threads, once it has begun, if I choose," Yuuko said, "but you see the needle begin to weave." She used her finger to trace the path of a falling star after it had appeared. Clow had known-- of course, he thought glumly-- that the star would appear. Yuuko had known where it was going.

"Boring," Clow said, squinting up at a quiet section of night that would soon host a beautiful astronomical display. The star appeared and faded. Clow sighed.

"Do I have to leave tomorrow?" he asked.

"Eto," Yuuko said, considering. Then she poked his side. "Yes. You're beginning to creep me out."

"Sorry," Clow said grumpily, and then, "Yes, I know. Of course I do."

Yuuko said nothing more.
