He came across it in one of Spinel's discarded texts, on top of a stack of books that he brushed in passing. It fell and he picked it up. The spine was bent and it lay open to a tattered page written in Old Chinese. It had been a joke gift from Yuuko to Clow long ago, a book of sappy poetry.

I'm soulless without you
You hold my being in your hand
My soul cleaves to your fingertips--

He shut the book and laughed. Would he exist now if Sakura did not? She was his goddess, he, her tempter.

I don't know why I feel so safe with him. He explains his master plan, details the million little deceptions he used. He acted like a child while trying his hardest to do anything short of killing me to save the Clow Cards.

Even now, I watch him smile and some part of me says hanyaan... Why should I feel safe with this deceiver?

They say Satan can be attractive, but I'm not a Christian. Still, if he was real, I think that he might have eyes with night in them and a devious smirk that I want to kiss.
