She used to think that school was difficult, that balancing modeling and math class was the hardest thing she would ever aspire to.

But being in love was harder than calculus, she was sure. She had to sneak around and lie to Sonomi, and fight for every moment she had with him. Love was hard.

Fugitaka didn't deserve the way her family treated him. He didn't deserve having to hide their relationship until it became a marriage, or the shock and ridicule of his colleagues. But he expected it.

He'd taken calculus, and he knew how difficult life could be.
