Excerpt: Sakura finally slips off to bed, wearing only his t-shirt and a smile.
The date is long done, the discussion with Tomoyo long over, when Sakura finally slips off to bed, wearing only his t-shirt and a smile (for tonight they had made cookies together, how romantic, and she'd spilled the flour and he kindly lent her something to wear).
She posted something small and happy on her blog, leaning over her desk for just a moment, feeling sleep tug at her, but she wanted to capture every memory.
He kissed my hand again, and it reminded me of the day we met. He didn't even care when I spilled the flour, and then Nakuru ran through and spilled it again.
She didn't write, I think I love him. It was too early for that yet; not too early to be in love, but too early to get her hopes up. For a man, love could be a fleeting thing. Not for Sakura. Sakura seemed to collect love, bundling it up around her, and if her love was returned to her then she didn't stop loving back.
She still loved Syaoran, but that was done now.
She climbed into bed and stretched, then curled up like a comma. She was still wearing a touch of smile. She curled a lock of hair around her finger and remembered how silly he had looked with flour in his hair, and that he wasn't afraid to laugh at himself. He had grazed her neck with his fingers and it still felt warm and real.
Eriol's t-shirt smelled like him and that was how she slept in the end, her nose buried in the fabric.
