Title: Jump With Me
Day/Theme: 17 // jump! jump higher!
Series: Cardcaptor Sakura
Character/Pairing: Yamazaki Takashi/Mihara Chiharu
Rating: G
Disclaimer: Cardcaptor Sakura belongs to CLAMP.

Summary: Pre-canon. When Yamazaki gets a trampoline, he invites Chiharu over to play. Perhaps she should have been a little more suspicious...

"Chiharu-chan! I have learned! How to fly!" Yamazaki called over the fence cheerfully. This wouldn't have been so alarming had he not appeared over the fence every time he spoke-- the eight foot privacy fence. Also, he appeared to be wearing some sort of wings, though they didn't hold him up in the air for very long.

"I'll teach you too! Come over!" he insisted.

Chiharu was a little suspicious. She'd only know Yamazaki for a couple months, but already she had noticed some shady behavior. He seemed to lie a lot, for example. Mommy said you weren't supposed to lie. And he kept telling her he wanted to marry her someday. That was silly-- they were only five.

"Chiharu-chan!" he insisted, and cautiously she opened the gate and saw that he wasn't actually flying. He had acquired a trampoline. She sighed in relief, and then climbed up on the uncertain surface to scold him.

"You can't fly!" she said. He bounced a couple times and replied, "But it was a good story!"

"You and your lies!" she said, disgusted but considering the trampoline. It could be fun. Or dangerous. She slid toward the edge to get down.

"Come on, Chiharu-chan! It's fun!" he insisted, doing a flip in mid-air. It would have worked out great had he landed on his feet, but he landed on his stomach. A blow that would have felled a lesser kindergartener made him laugh. He got up and extended a hand to her.

"Chiharu-chan..." he insisted again, and she took his hand and let him pull her to her feet.

"Now jump!" he instructed. She jumped a little bit, feeling uncertain about the way the fabric moved under her feet.

"Jump higher!" he said, taking her hands. With his encouragement and extra balance she felt safe enough to try again. That time she got the heady thrill of jumping twice her own height. It was almost scary, but Yamazaki did have ahold of her.

But then again, it was Yamazaki, and when they came down wrong on the edge of the trampoline and both broke an arm, she considered for a very long time before she let him sign her cast.

I love C/Y and no one writes them! The prompts for [livejournal.com profile] 7rainbowprompts were made for them, though. One is penguins. That always makes me think of Yamazaki. ^^

I liked the fic very much. They're just so sweet together. *giggles* I think that what I love about them is that their relationship feels more real, as it isn't full of perfect details. Yamazaki will always be himself, Chiharu will always get mad at him, and yet they'll stick by each other's side. How wonderful is that. XD

I love that about Chiharu and Yamazaki too. Their relationship seems like the most real in all of CCS. The most realistic, that is. And no one ever writes about them...
