Summary: He had been waking up in her house and sometimes even her bed for almost a year when she found the box he'd thrown in the storeroom.
When he moved in, it was piece by piece. First clothing and the essentials, followed by journals and books, and they were both so messy that it was hard to say when their official period of living together actually began.
He had been waking up in her house and sometimes even her bed (depending on how late he had been up working the previous night) for almost a year when she found the box he'd thrown in the storeroom.
"What is this?"
Clow looked up from the character designs he was sketching of a little cat creature with butterfly wings. Yuuko was holding some small shriveled object.
"I don't know," he said, adding pupils to Spinelsun's eyes.
"Since when has your things been in my storeroom?" she said, picking her way carefully across the rune-scribbled floor to his side.
"I thought we'd need some of it for the conjurations, I suppose," Clow said, unperturbed. He sketched one ear, and then the other.
"A rabbit's foot?" she said.
"Oh, that's what you found," he said, smiling. He plucked the foot from her hand and tucked it into his robes.
"You know we don't use that kind of stuff," Yuuko said. "Messing with animal spirits is dangerous."
"I know," Clow said, erasing the tail and redrawing it with a curl.
"So why did you bring it here anyway? That whole box is full of weird junk, scribbled charms and horseshoes."
"My lucky charms," Clow said. He looked up at Yuuko with a goofy smile, but she wasn't buying. She sniffed dismissively.
"There is no luck, only hitsuzen," Yuuko said. "You know that."
"Of course," Clow said, looking back down at his sketch and carefully editing a few lines. "But I was carrying that rabbit's foot when I met you."
"If I remember correctly, you had a whole rabbit. You pulled it out of a top hat, and I laughed at you."
"Well, the rabbit didn't last too long after that," Clow said. "Kero scared it one day running down the stairs in his lion form, and its little heart stopped."
"Isn't that a little morbid?" Yuuko said, blanching.
"But that was my lucky rabbit. It sent me the only woman in the world who can drink me under the table."
"Whatever," Yuuko said, grabbing his sketchbook and hitting him on the head with it.
Clow just smiled.
