Summary: Two children get in trouble. It probably hadn't been a very good idea to actually set Daidouji's dollhouse on fire.

In retrospect, it hadn't been a very good idea to actually set Daidouji's dollhouse on fire, but she said she wanted the film to be realistic, after all. You couldn't have a realistic recreation of a house on fire with red cardboard, like Daidouji had first suggested.

"This was your reasoning?" Daidouji's mom said, hands in hips, and defiantly he looked up at her. She seemed angry, but she shot his father a look and he caught the laughter in her eyes.

"He's certainly your son," Daidouji's mom said to his father.

"She's certainly your daughter," his father replied, lifting an eyebrow in challenge.

The kids looked at each other and rolled their eyes. What they wanted to know was whether or not they were in trouble.

His dad leaned down onto one knee so he could be at eye level and said sternly, "Ofuda are not toys, son. You know that."

He scuffed his foot on the carpet, trying to look sufficiently sorry. Daidouji's mom muttered something neither of the boys quite caught, though Syaoran's son though that it had been about Uncle Touya. He figured that it probably was when his father turned red. For some reason, Uncle Touya always made him angry.

"Different circumstances, Daidouji," Syaoran muttered. Tomoyo laughed a little, and her daughter did too, even though she didn't know what was going on. The boy felt put upon. Here he had offered to help Daidouji with her little movie, because she said that her mother used to film his parents all the time, and now it had got him into trouble...

His dad picked him up and rested him on his shoulder. "I think the play date is over for today," he announced.

"Will I see you next week?" Daidouji said, wide eyed. The little boy nodded. His mother wouldn't let his father stay mad for long.

Syaoran sighed, but smiled a little at Tomoyo. He'd almost forgotten that day he'd set Touya on fire... He wondered if Touya himself even remembered it. Tomoyo had a way of remembering things no one else did.

"See you next week," Syaoran said to Tomoyo. She walked him to the door and then kissed the little boy's forehead. He wrinkled his nose a little, but his mom said not to protest, because Daidouji's mom loved all of them very much. (He still thought it was gross, though.)

What was grosser still was that his father put up with a kiss on the cheek too, and when his mother appeared to pick them up, she got a full-blown hug. Just wait until little Daidouji tried that on him. It wouldn't be her dollhouse on fire, that time...

The girl smiled and a blush traced itself across the little boy's cheeks. Well, maybe it wasn't a good thing to play with fire. His dad said so.
