[Legend of Korra] places to play in and pray in (Korra gen)
Title: places to play in and pray in
Fandom: Legend of Korra
Length: 359 words
Prompt: Korra, Bolin, and Asami go out for makeovers? Mako can stay home and babysit the airbabies or something.
Pairing: Korra, Bolin, and Asami gen
Other: "This was the best idea," Bolin sighed with pleasure as his feet sunk into the warm mud bath. Asami smiled. Korra could only agree, although the stylist working on her fingernails probably had a different opinion. And if he didn't quit being so rough, he was going to have a very different one.

"Makeovers always cheer me up when I have a bad day," Asami said. "There are few things better than a good manicure and a foot rub."
Korra leaned back in her chair, eyes closed because the stylist had put some kind of cool fruit over her eyelids.
"I like going running with Naga," she said, "but I have to admit, this is pretty nice too."
"You should bring Naga next time," Bolin said. "Pabu is loving this!"
Indeed, it seemed that the fire ferret was enjoying the attention. He was currently being blow-dried by a very patient attendant.
Korra laughed. "I'll think about it," she promised. All was quiet for a moment, and then she blurted, "It's a shame Mako didn't want to come." She regretted the statement immediately. Mako was a loyal guy, a great friend, but this would feel totally different if he was here. She always had this idea that she needed to impress him, to catch his attention.
"His loss," Bolin said with a shrug.
"I'm sure he's having a great time with Councilman Tenzin's kids," Asami said, after only a moment's hesitation. "I hope that Pema and Tenzin are enjoying a day off."
Korra nodded, skewing one of her cucumber pieces. The attendant clucked when she caught it and ate it, but what did he know? It was pretty good cucumber. Plus, she was tired of not being able to see anything. Bolin's fingernails were pale pink, and she giggled.
"Mako loves kids. I'm sure he's fine. Just not as pretty as we are!" Bolin said, gesturing grandly with a painted hand.
"You're right," Korra said, and like that, her tension dissolved. She leaned back in the chair and propped up her feet, wiggling her toes.
"Let's do this again sometime," she said with a sigh, and her friends quickly agreed.
