She watches over him: Yue knows her duties. Every Water Tribe warrior prays to the Ocean and the Moon for success in battle, and after her ascension, Sokka becomes especially devout. She isn't surprised. He's shouldering the burden of a man, not a child, and he needs any reassurance he can find, especially when he knows that a friendly face is above him.

She wishes, sometimes, that she could have stayed with him (even though she would have been with Hahn, in the end: Yue knows her duties, remember). But she has her destiny, and he has his, and she will do her best to light his way in the dark. It is the most and the least she can do. Their destinies have separated them. She cannot feel jealous of Suki -- cannot, she is not human enough for something like that anymore -- but would not, if she could, because he deserves a real girl who can love him back and keep him out of trouble. And isn't Suki painted white, like the fullness of Yue's orb? She'll take care of him too.

Yue shines, watching the nights pass over all the kingdoms and the insomniac warriors that live there. She does not regret her choice, not really. She could not have been his because she has always been the moon's.

She is glad to light the path that brings him home.
