The strangest thing about the change in Touya and Yukito's relationship was that there really wasn't much change at all. They still hung out together at school, spent time with Touya's family, and talked about whatever was going on in their lives. Touya spent some time tutoring Yukito on what he'd missed when he was too sleepy to function, but other than that, the big change between them wasn't very big at all.
Yukito knew Touya, and he didn't expect any kind of emotional confession. All he had to do was shut his eyes and remember the look on Touya's face when Touya woke after losing his magic, and the gentle brush of Touya's hand on his cheek.
"You didn't disappear," he'd said, and that was as good of a confession of love as any.
They were sitting around in Touya's room a few weeks after Eriol had left, enjoying the quiet now that there wasn't magic running amuck, and after Touya brushed a smudge of sauce from the corner of Yukito's mouth, he leaned over and kissed him. Yuki was quiet for a moment, eyes wide. Touya blushed a little.
"I-- You know what I mean," he said. "Right?"
Yuki smiled. Touya's magic was warm in Yukito's mind. It didn't quite mix with Sakura's, and he liked it that way. It was like Touya was always present, even when he really wasn't.
"I know," Yuki said, and felt a hint of Yue's grudging approval. Touya had told Yukito that they were alike, he and Yue. Yuki hoped so.
Touya coughed and then threw an arm around Yukito's shoulders, like he'd been doing for months, and it felt comfortable and easy. Yukito leaned into the touch.
Their conversation slowly moved on to mundane things, and neither minded.
