For a Glee Club, they definitely screamed a lot. It seemed like secrets didn't last long between them, although long enough to cause the maximum amount of drama before a performance. Everyone had seemed so happy on Valentine's Day except Santana, and Tina would have called that the start of the problem, except that most of the yelling had to do with the cheating she'd uncovered, rather than actions of her own.
Tina watched as Sam shouted at Finn, and Finn yelled at Santana, and Rachel interjected into a situation that shouldn't really involve her anymore, except that she was determined to get back with Finn, no matter what she was saying on the subject that week. Brittany looked like she was about to cry for Santana's sake, so Artie might find the need to be chivalrous and wade in too, and although the whole room paused when Karofsky cracked open the choir room door, it was only for a moment, and then a new group of people started shouting. You didn't want to be there when Mercedes got going.
Tina squeezed Mike's hand, leaning over to say, "Let's skip today."
Mike seemed surprised, but only for a moment. Mr. Schuester wasn't here yet, and by the time he showed up and sorted people out, there wouldn't be much time to practice.
He kissed her neck, making her sigh, and muttered, "As you wish," into her ear. Tina's toes curled in her shoes. There weren't many guys at this school who would have been comfortable watching "The Princess Bride" with their girlfriends, but Mike hadn't protested. He was such a great guy. And he didn't mind that she really appreciated Wesley.
They made their way to the door without notice, and when they saw Coach Beiste headed down the hallway toward them, they ducked into a science classroom until she went past, slamming the choir room door as she entered.
"She's like the Fist of God," Mike observed. Tina giggled.
"Come on," she said, wrapping her arms around him and pushing him back against the bulletin board in this classroom. Papers fluttered to the floor as she kissed him hard enough to stain his lips with her lipstick. When they paused to catch their breaths, Mike smiled that sweet little smile that she adored.
"Anywhere you want to run, that's fine with me," Mike said, and when she began to cry a little, shoulders hitched with emotion, he kissed away her tears.
