[WALL*E] (Re)production (WALL*E/EVE)

Title: (Re)production
Fandom: WALL*E
Length: 167 words
Prompt: Three-Sentence Fic-a-thon: WALL*E, WALL*E/EVE, daughter of invention
Pairing: WALL*E/EVE
Other: Ridiculously fluffy.

Excerpt: So he finds pieces of metal here and there and she scrapes through boards and sockets and old electronic junk, searching for the right sparks, the right connections, the right pieces to build something completely new.

The humans give birth in a biological way, an attempt to combine the best parts of themselves and send it out into the world to succeed or fail on its own merits, but robots cannot mimic this process.

So he finds pieces of metal here and there and she scrapes through boards and sockets and old electronic junk, searching for the right sparks, the right connections, the right pieces to build something completely new-- not another WALL-E, not another EVE, but something from his creativity and her brilliance.

They call it BABY, because that's what the humans call theirs, and WALL-E has always been better with the long sounds, anyway; he looks at the new robot with the same focused gaze he once reserved for EVE alone, and he is already planning with her, upgrades and attachments, and all of the tapes he wants to share with new memory banks; EVE giggles, and takes his hand, and watches fondly, as BABY opens its sensors to take in the world.
